Krungthep Tea Time 1051 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789
When Eugenio and I first moved to Orlando we were eager to scope out the food scene. Since we live in the tourist trap of the city, we usually have to take a drive to catch a breath from the chain-food madness. Luckily, on our first date night we discovered our first hidden gem, Krungthep Tea Time in Winter Park.
We quickly realized this was not your average tea room. The first thing we noticed before we even pulled up to the parking lot was the big, bright sign that read "Krungthep". It was flashy enough that it made us feel that we were somewhere in L.A. or NYC, not in the middle of Orlando. We sat down and browsed through the menu and were pleasantly surprised to find 'toast' as their specialty. It was odd, yet also a no-brainer! Why wouldn't you want toast with your tea?! But wait, this was not your ordinary toast, this was something divine from the toast-making gods. It was soaked in buttermilk, and it was so juicy and sweet.
We were hooked!
Eugenio and I had to make our way back to the tea room and find out more about their sweet creations. I had the pleasure to sit down with the founder Pemika Assawasoponkul and associate Pannarint Leenahwattana and find out more about what Krungthep means and the inspiration for their menu. Watch the video above to learn more and make sure to stop by Krungthep Tea Time next time you're in Winter Park, Florida.
Oh hey! My name is Cindy and this is my BF Eugenio (eh-ooh-HEH-nee-oh). We eat a lot of food and listen to good music. Follow us on our journey as we eat our way to obesity and dance it off to an awesome soundtrack!
